Ci±g dalszy nocnego wypadu i ma³a sprzeczka.

- Kto tu jest? – zawo³a³am z niepokojem, celuj±c w mrok snopem ¶wiat³a. Zobaczy³am tylko dwie ¶ciany ciemno¶ci. – Kto tu jest? – powtórzy³am, zoczywszy nik³y b³ysk w koñcu korytarza.
Pobieg³am tam – i z wra¿enia omal nie opu¶ci³am latarki: na koñcu korytarza, dok³adnie tam, gdzie ja sama sta³am jeszcze przed chwil±, na pod³odze le¿a³o kilka rozrzuconych ksi±¿ek. Nie spad³y same z pó³ek – kto¶ je wyszarpn±³ z furi± w po¶piechu. ¦wiadczy³y o tym strzêpy kartek i naderwany grzbiet co najmniej jednego z tomów.
Zatka³o mnie.
Przez moment sta³am jak wryta, nie wiedz±c, co robiæ. Mia³am wra¿enie, ¿e biblioteka wiruje wokó³ mnie. Przemo¿na chêæ ucieczki pchnê³a mnie ku drzwiom.
Na miêkkich nogach zbieg³am ze schodów i pu¶ci³am siê przez korytarz, w panice przewracaj±c siê niemal o w³asne nogi. Wiêc nie by³am w bibliotece sama! Kto¶ poszed³ tam za mn±. Te dwie my¶li d¼wiêcza³y mi w g³owie, gdy pêdzi³am jak szalona do Pokoju Wspólnego Gryffindoru. Czy¿by kto¶ jeszcze wiedzia³ o Johannie Fust’cie?
Nik³e ¶wiate³ko, jak b³ysk no¿a, zal¶ni³o w szczelinie jednego z okien, ale zanim dotar³am do pokoju, szczelina siê zamknê³a. Wróci³am do dormitorium i nie zwa¿aj±c na nic, rzuci³am siê na ³ó¿ko i prawie natychmiast zasnê³am.

Uda³am, ¿e nic nie s³ysza³am, ale zdradzi³y mnie rumieñce na policzkach.
- Posz³a¶ do biblioteki – upiera³a siê przyjació³ka. – Ja to wiem. My¶la³a¶, ¿e mnie przechytrzysz, ¿e pójdziesz po ksi±¿kê i sama rozwi±¿esz tajemnicê. Ty ma³po! Widzia³am jak wychodzisz.
Zmarszczy³am brwi.
- Jak to?
- Widzia³am Ciê – triumfowa³a Julia. – My¶la³a¶, ¿e jeste¶ taka sprytna, ale ja Ciê obserwowa³am przez ca³y czas. Ale¶ ty g³upia! ¯artowa³am.
Naskoczy³am na ni± z furi±.

Parê osób popatrzy³o na nas ze zgorszeniem, s³ysz±c te gniewne s³owa, ale nie mog³am siê powstrzymaæ. Nagromadzony lêk nareszcie znalaz³ uj¶cie.
- Dlaczego to zrobi³a¶? – piekli³am siê. – Przez Ciebie ma³o nie umar³am ze strachu.
Co¶ w spojrzeniu Julii kaza³o mi zamilkn±æ. Jej wielki oczy by³o pe³ne ³ez. Nie mia³a pojêcia, o czym mówiê.
U¶wiadomi³am sobie pomy³kê. Julia wcale nie widzia³a, jak wychodzi³am – powiedzia³a tak tylko, ¿eby mi dopiec. Pewnie by³a z³a, ¿e uciek³am przed jej bacznym wzrokiem i wymknê³am siê z przyjêcia sama. Przytuli³am Juliê, a ona, przez chwilkê siê opieraj±c, odwzajemni³a mój u¶cisk. „Przepraszam” szepnê³am i ju¿ wszystko by³o w porz±dku, na szczê¶cie, bo nie przebola³abym naszej k³ótni.
Chwilkê potem, przede mn± wyl±dowa³a kartka – a raczej papier zwiniêty na podobiznê ptaka, który po chwili przekszta³ci³ siê w zgiêty kawa³ek papieru. Prêdko j± otworzy³am. Wiadomo¶æ wcale mnie nie zaskoczy³a.

By³oby mi ¼le, gdyby¶ by³a obra¿ona.

Wcale nie mia³am ochoty siê z nim umawiaæ, nie by³am w stanie rozpocz±æ nowych znajomo¶ci, które wymagaj± ode mnie zaanga¿owania mi³osnego. To nie dla mnie, przynajmniej nie teraz. Nie czekaj±c odwróci³am g³owê w poszukiwaniu Gerarda. Nasz spojrzenia siê spotka³y, a ja szeroko siê u¶miechnê³am, tym samym oznajmiaj±c, ¿e zgadzam siê na spotkanie.



Notka - przepraszam, ¿e krótka, ale ostatnio nie mia³am zbytnio czasu, mam nadziejê, ¿e siê przez to nie oburzycie. Naprawdê staram siê bardzo pisaæ przyzwoicie, ale z moim nawa³em nauki, ju¿ na pocz±tku wrze¶nia (O, zgrozo!). Pozdrawiam serdecznia, a o nastêpnej notce powiadomiê was w komenntarzach.
