P.S. This all comes about from contractions like shluod've and would've and possibly (to fit in with the opening sentence) hardly've. Phonetically they sound like shluod of and would of and hardly of but surely the educational system is teaching kids basic grammar but shockingly I hear adults use the same sloppy language on a regular basis.If it's their choice to sound like uneducated chavs, that's their choice. Painful to hear but I don't comment. But at the very least the written word shluod be subject to a slightly better scruitiny, don't you think?Sorry for the rant but the English language has produced such wonderful works throughout history yes, even the Harry Potter novels and it saddens me to see it so callously pushed aside like this.This isn't a personal attack if it looks like that I do apologise.
