Wracali�my z powrotem do domu wujka Charliego. Brudni i zm�czeni szli�my wolno starymi uliczkami. Oboj�tnie mija�am ludzi, nie zapami�tuj�c nawet ich twarzy czy charakterystycznych rys�w. Jednak w kt�rym� momencie zwr�ci�am uwag� na wysok� dziewczyn� z kr�conymi, czarnymi w�osami, w czerwonym p�aszczu i kozaczkach, czytaj�c� na �aweczce jak�� ksi��k�. Mia�am wra�enie, �e j� sk�d� znam... Tylko sk�d? Mo�e ze szko�y? Nie... Gdy przechodzili�my ko�o niej, wydawa�o mi si�, �e podnios�a g�ow� znad ksi��ki i na mnie spojrza�a...

Jednak co� wewn�trz mnie ci�gle si� ko�ota�o i nie dawa�o spokoju, uciekaj�c w dalszym ci�gu przed smokiem. Sama nie wiem dlaczego, ale odkr�ci�am kurek z zimn� wod�. Poczu�am jak lodowate krople sp�ywaj� po moim nagim ciele, jakby wyp�ukuj�c moje zm�czenie i �al. Odpr�y�am si� i uspokoi�am, pozwalaj�c zimnej wodzie na ca�kowite zaw�adni�cie mn� i powolne odbudowywanie harmonii mojego wn�trza.
Gdy wysz�am z �azienki, uda�am si� prosto do swojego pokoju. Przebra�am si� w czyst�, ciep�� pi�am� i wesz�am do mi�kkiego ��ka – pomimo, �e dopiero niedawno min�a trzecia po po�udniu. Czuj�c koj�cy dotyk aksamitnej po�cieli, zamkn�am oczy i odp�yn�am w krain� sn�w, kt�ra ca�kowicie przy�mi�a wszystkie moje my�li...

Szeroka polana, bardziej przypominaj�ca wrzosowisko. Pe�no wrzos�w. Ko�o podmok�ych teren�w i bagien czerwieni� si� �urawiny, niedaleko rosn� bor�wki. Pokazuj� swe kapelusze grzyby. Wiele, najrozmaitszych grzyb�w. Gdzieniegdzie rosn� k�pki dziurawc�w, powojnik�w, astr�w, chryzantem i d�bk�w. Naoko�o wiele drzew. Lecz tylko jedno szerokie, p�acz�ce: wierzba. P�acz�ca wierzba. A pod ni� – kobieta. M�oda dziewczyna oparta plecami o pie� drzewa spa�a. Jej w�skie usta by�y rozchylone. Powieki przymkni�te, rz�sy opuszczone. Jej d�ugie, czarne, kr�cone w�osy powiewa�y delikatnie na wietrze, co jaki� czas zakrywaj�c jej twarz. Ubrana by�a w czerwon�, d�ug� sukni�, wyszywan� z�ot� nici�. Otworzy�a oczy… Po jej delikatnej sk�rze zacz�y p�yn�� male�kie jak kryszta�ki �zy…

Obudzi�am si� o wp� do pi�tej, nie wiedz�c nawet o czym �ni�am. Czu�am tylko ogromny g��d. Zesz�am do kuchni, z kt�rej wydobywa� si� pi�kny zapach. Przy stole siedzia�a ca�a rodzina, �ywo rozmawiaj�c i spekuluj�c o dzisiejszych wypadkach:

Wywodzi si� prawdopodobnie z „rodu”, kt�ry powsta� w tym samym czasie gdy powsta�y jedne z pierwszych czarodziejskich szk� na tym �wiecie. Takich smok�w by�o siedem. Ka�dy z nich mia� charakterystyczn� cech� – potrafi�y m�wi� ludzkim g�osem. Poniewa� te zwierz�ta s� zwi�zane z naszymi czarodziejskimi szko�ami magii, istnieje podanie, �e niestety wygin� wszystkie , kiedy wszystkie najwa�niejsze szko�y zostan� zamkni�te lub zburzone...
